A New Season for Simply Homemaker!

Hello, friends of Simply Homemaker!

I can’t believe our blog has been as old as it is. For someone who used to struggle with consistency, I know that this blog turning 1 year old is only possible because of YOU. I know some of you read these emails every week, and I don’t want to let you down. So, despite where or when I am in life, I sit down and write, and you get either a somewhat eloquent recaps of my life or a very hard attempt to capture all my jumbled thoughts into a single blog post.

I was talking with mama Julie (thank God for our weekly phone call) the other day before she flew out to Ethiopia, and I was sharing with her how I felt like the blogs had been a broken record these past two months: I am still getting to know Orlando, and I’m really grateful for my life right now. You might call it… normal. This is what happens when our seasons change or when we begin something new and unexpected. But this conversation also made me realize that maybe the blog itself also needs to change and move on to a new season, and that thought has allowed me to ponder and dream a little bit.

After a week of considering different options (Do I book a trip to Paris or do I write a book? You tell me) and a very brief moment of “I know!”, it is my joy to share with you the launch of a sweet summer blog series that is all about homemaking.

For the remainder of summer here in Orlando, I will be writing about homemaking, and the blogs will be less of a life update but more of what I want it to become, a space where homemaking can be shared and celebrated.

For the next two months and 8 blog posts, we will dive into homemaking together. The series will be called Homemaking from Scratch, and it means more than just cooking from whole ingredients. It will truly be an attempt to introduce homemaking to someone who has never made up their mind about what it is before. We’ll cover questions like: What is homemaking? Why is contentment so important in homemaking? What is the right pace of homemaking? What are the resources to make a home lovely and livable? Is cooking and cleaning all that homemaking entails?

I am also dreaming up something super fun to accompany these blog posts too, and I’m excited to be more creative and spontaneous about what it is going to look like! It will be an experiment all together.

The first blog in the series comes out next week on Saturday (that will be my new posting schedule), so stay tuned! I’m so excited to share with you all that I’ve learned! And I promise to make it pretty fun, too.

Life is good here, friends. See you then.

Love,

Tram
